The final indoor horse show takes place this week in Lexington, KY. The Alltech National Horse Show used to be Madison Square Garden, then moved to Saugerties, NY, and finally now takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park. The horse show is now a central location with plenty of amenities for horses and now with plenty of events for spectators and horse lovers too.
If you haven't been to a final horse show you should consider going. Kentucky is easy to get to via plane or car. It's a great opportunity to see the some of the best hunters and jumpers in the country and discover what's new in the industry.
This year in additional to the horse show and shopping offered, Rood and Riddle has made available the Kentucky Experience. Tours of various farms in the area will be given along with a symposium on horse care, the USHJA museum and more.
So what do you think? Are you heading to KY??

USHJA Proposed rule changes
Rule Changes
It's that time of year when decisions are made on proposed rule changes. The rules seem to change on a daily basis at times and it is difficult to keep up with the latest rules. USHJA has provided a spot on their website to allow members to read over the proposed rule changes and comment on them. The more voices and ideas the rule change committees hear the better it can be for everyone.
Are you aware of the new naming of "AA" and "A" shows and mileage rules?? Or how about rules regarding removing your helmet??
Go to https://www.ushja.org/programs/rules/rules_prc.aspx for the latest updates. The link is also available on the USHJA Zone 5 page on www.ChicagoEquestrian.com.
Feel free to give your opinion or suggestions on how to keep up with the rule changes.
